Interview of Beate Sirota Gordon conducted and translated by Keiko Yokota-Carter from January, 1992 - February, 1993. Beate Sirota was a member of the Steering Committee who drafted Japanese Constitution under the Allied Occupation in 1945. She describes the background of her historical work; her family background, biographical story in Tokyo and in the US, how her experiences knowing Japanese women enabled her to draft women's rights in Japanese Constitution.
