The morphological evolution of the littoral region in Wissant (N. France) during the Holocene L'évolution morphologique de la région littorale de Wissant durant l'Holocène

We discuss here about two representative profiles of the littoral region of Wissant. In these two profiles we distinguish the same succession. The first Holocene sediments that occur in the coastal plain of Wissant are coarse marine sands (Atlantic) and at that moment the bay was not protected by a dune wall. The presence of small peat lenses and thin sandy layers indicates respectively a decline and increase of the influence of marine environment due to local circumstances.
