The Development Committee of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) considered a number of key development issues at its 42nd meeting, held in Bangkok, on October 14, 1991. The Committee concentrated its discussion on two related issues: 'Development Priorities for the Nineties, and the Implications for the World Bank Group'; and 'Human Resource Development.' Members also considered progress reports on trends in resource transfers; the implementation of the debt strategy and its impact on development prospects; the World Bank's 'women in development' activities; the World Bank Group's progress in expanding its private sector activities; and current international trade developments.
