The estimated value of recycled nonferrous metals in 1993 was about $7.3 billionand is an increasingly important component of economic activity in the United States. Table 1 shows salient U.S. recycling statistics for selected metals. Table 2 shows salient U.S. apparent supply and recycling statistics for those same metals. Figure 1 shows a general flow scheme for recycling.
