The report presents the results of a study conducted to determine the overallpicture of current risk management practices in the natural gas pipeline industry. The intent was to provide an indication of general industry practices without the existence of any specific regulations that drive the method or extent of risk management. The information was collected through a written, 15-page questionnaire issued to a target group of 19 transmission companies of various sizes and locations. These 19 companies were chosen from a list of likely participants provided by GRI as well as companies added by the consultants to the project. A total of 13 companies responded, and a follow-up survey was provided to them.
