Abatement of the Water Pollution in the Infulene Basin. Final Report of theInfulene Water Quality Management Project, 1991-1994

摘要

The Infulene research project was formulated in 1991 and started in 1992. Themain objective was to investigate the water quality and possibilities for reduction of pollution. The Infulene river is running North to South from the region of Marraquene to Maputo. Having a length of about 24 km it discharges into the Estuary of Maputo surface and sub-surface runoff, industrial wastewaters, runoff of the city of Maputo, illegal discharges of domestic wastewater and the effluent of the wastewater treatment plant Infulene Norte. The research project was orientated towards 3 major aspects, being river water quality, industrial waste water discharges and performance of the domestic wastewater treatment plant.
