NIOSH Comments to EPA on the Environmental Protection Agency Proposed Guidelinesfor Neurotoxicity Risk Assessment by L. Rosenstock, January 30, 1996

NIOSH had no major comments on the Environmental Protection Agency proposedguidelines for neurotoxicity risk assessment, supported their publication, and submitted the following specific comments for consideration. It was recommended that use of the term behavioral alterations to describe neurotoxic functional changes measured by neurobehavioral testing should be changed to neurobehavioral changes or effects as it is more commonly used terminology. The inclusion of human laboratory studies as a part of the epidemiological studies was discussed. Lastly, NIOSH suggests changing the term from mixtures of chemicals to mixed exposures.
