Glen Canyon Dam. Colorado River Storage Project, Arizona: Nonuse ValueQualitative Research Final Report

Nonuse or passive use economic value is the value of a natural resource held byindividuals who may not physically use the resource. The goal of the Glen Canyon Environmental Studies (GCES) Nonuse Study was to estimate the total economic value for changes in the operation of Glen Canyon Dam. This four year effort included extensive qualitative research, a number of focus groups, a survey design phase, two reviews by the Office of Management and Budget, a pilot-test phase, and a final survey of 8,000 households in the United States. This document details the qualitative research phase of the study.
