A model for determining aerodynamic loads from steady and unsteady databases is211u001epresented that is suitable for predicting Limit Cycle Oscillations (LCO) of 211u001efighter aircraft at transonic speeds. Validations of the model are presented, in 211u001eparticular the influence of Mach number variations, different control flap 211u001esettings and oscillation frequency and amplitude are demonstrated. A few examples 211u001eof the aerodynamic model embedded in the LCO prediction method are presented to 211u001eshow the LCO characteristics of a fighter type aircraft. Finally, enhancement of 211u001ethe use of the model are discussed by extension of the data bases with data 211u001eobtained from CFD methods and/or new wind tunnel experiments.
