UK X-ray Laser Consortium Forum Meeting 1997. Held on April 29, 1997

This document contains a copy of all the overheads presented at the 1997 UK X-raylaser forum. The aims of the meeting were to: review research work carried out by the UK consortium since the last forum; update all consortium members on the current state of experimental analysis; present recent theoretical simulations and modelling; consider an debate new avenues of investigation. Significant advances in soft X-ray laser research have been made since the last forum. Results on multi-pulse pumping, transient gain and CPA driven schemes were presented. New theoretical modelling results were discussed and methods for achieving even shorter wavelength saturated lasing action considered.
