Removal of LNAPL (oil) from an aquifer is described using a multi-phase flow211u001emodel. At the well boundary, seepage face conditions are imposed. These 211u001econditions are implemented in a numerical model and withdrawal in a two-211u001edimensional domain is simulated for two different geometries of the oil lens and 211u001efor varied values of the physical parameters. Assuming vertical equilibrium, the 211u001eoil flow equation is reduced by vertical integration. The well boundary condition 211u001eis approximated by imposing zero oil lense thickness. Similarity solutions of the 211u001ereduced equations for the two geometries show good agreement with the numerical 211u001eresults in most cases.
