The Jennison-Wright Corporation (J-W) is a National Priorities List (NPL) site in211u001eMadison County, Illinois, in the northern section of granite City. The J-W 211u001efacility engaged in wood treatment of railroad ties and wood blocks using 211u001ecreosote, pentachlorophenol, and zinc naphthanate. Soil contamination also exists 211u001eoff the site from runoff, disposal, and air deposition. Based on available 211u001einformation, the J-W site is considered a public health hazard because of the 211u001erisk to human health resulting from past, present, and future exposure to soil 211u001econtaminants. The reason for this conclusion is exposure to soil contaminants
