The Budapest VSDIA Mini Conference series on Vehicle System Dynamics,211u001eIdentification and Anomalies began in 1988 on the basis of the initiative of the 211u001eacademic staff members of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering dealing with 211u001erailway vehicle, road vehicle, aerospace vehicle as well as ship dynamics and 211u001econtrol at the Technical University of Budapest. The rapid development in this 211u001especial field and the great interest of industrial/Transport enterprises in the 211u001eintensive research and development made it reasonable to think of widening the 211u001epossibilities in Central Europe for the international exchange of views and 211u001eexperience on dynamics, identification and parameter anomaly problems of vehicle 211u001esystems. The VSDIA '98 Conference was held at the Technical University of 211u001eBudapest between 9 and 11 November, 1998. The considerable international interest 211u001emade it possible for the Scientific Committee to accept 68 paper offers from 14 211u001ecountries, while the final number of participants was 86.
