Early in 1997, Maryland State Police 211u001e(MSP) took the initiative to explore new enforcement strategies to combat the 211u001erising trend in aggressive driving. The Aggressive Driver Imaging and Enforcement 211u001e(ADIE) program of MSP is a special program to control aggressive driving on the 211u001eCapital Beltway in Maryland. The 211u001eintegration has resulted in a new technology for targeting aggressive drivers 211u001ewithin the traffic stream. The ADIE system is able to obtain sharp images of 211u001evehicle tag numbers. DOT numbers and vehicle path, as well as accurate record on 211u001evehicle speeds.
