Draft Recovery Plan for Serpentine Soil Species of the San Francisco Bay Area

This recovery plan features 28 species of plants and animals that occurexclusively or primarily on serpentine soils and serpentine grasslands in the San Franciso Bay area of California. The 14 federally listed species include 11 endangered plants, two federally threatened plant and one federally threatened animal (bay checkerspot butterfly). These species occur in dry, nutrient-poor, serpentine soil grasslands of the greater San Francisco Bay area and the adjacent foothills and valleys.
