Experimental Equipments of Sulfation Studies of Metal Oxides and Sulfides

Sulfation reaction of metal oxides and sulfides in atmosphere of SO2-O2 or SO3211u001egases are very important in many metallurgical processes. Generally, following 211u001etypes of sulfation reactions in industrial processes are discussed: sulfation 211u001eroasting of sulfide minerals, sulfation roasting of oxide minerals (e.g. nickel 211u001elaterite ores and deep ocean manganese nodules), removal of SO2 from stack gas in 211u001ecombustion processes with solid oxide absorbents, and sulfation of oxide dust in 211u001ethe off-gas handling equipment in sulfide smelting/converting processes (e.g. 211u001esulfation in waste heat boilers or in electrostatic precipitators). However, in 211u001ethis report, this grouping is not used, because primary focus is in experimental 211u001eequipments of sulfation studies.
