The viscous flow around a double-mode of the HSVA-1 tanker is computed using211u001eMenter's k-omega shear-stress transport (SST) turbulence model and its variant 211u001efor strongly curved or rotating flows (RCSST). The computations are performed 211u001eusing a full Navier-Stokes flow solver. The results are compared with 211u001eexperimental data. The comparisons are performed for surface-streamlines, axial 211u001evelocity, and vorticity at different locations in the flow direction. The 211u001elimiting streamlines are predicted with good accuracy with both k-omega models. 211u001eThey also predict the wake flow with relatively good accuracy with only some 211u001eminor deviations from the measured wake flow field in the inner portion of the 211u001ewake. The overall agreement of the computed results with the measurements is 211u001equite good. The RCSST model gives a slight improvement compared with the SST 211u001emodel. Both models give an improvement compared with the previous results 211u001eobtained with the Cebeci-Smith and Chiens k-epsilon turbulence models.
