This report presents the main findings of the 1997 National Household Survey on211u001eDrug Abuse (NHSDA). The 1997 survey provides information on the use of illicit 211u001edrugs, alcohol, and tobacco among the estimated 216 million members of the 211u001ecivilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 or older in the United States 211u001e(hereinafter referred to as the 'surveyed population').
