October 2002 marks the twentieth anniversary of the enactment of the Foreign Missions Act, and the establishment of the Office of Foreign Missions (OFM). This years annual report will be more than a report on OFM activities in 2001; it will be an opportunity to look back at OFMs accomplishments and milestones over the last twenty years, from a world firmly in the grip of the Cold War through and beyond the terrible events of September 11, 2001. To achieve its goals, OFM increasingly makes use of strategies that involve: Negotiations and reciprocity agreements; Partnerships with other offices and organizations; Continuing outreach efforts; and Strengthening the organization.
