This report summarizes the research from the fiscal year 2001 within the Swedish Defense Research Agency in the domain of Modeling and Simulation. In the report you will find a summing-up of the aim and direction of the research domain and the national and international development. The results of the research are summarized and the activities in each project are described. Efforts have been made to increase the competence in modeling and simulation generally as well as within specific areas. FOI research and MoS is aimed at supporting the Swedish Armed Forces by developing and assessing technologies, methodologies and tools to be used in a range of modeling and simulation applications.
