It is the objective of the report to provide a comprehensive review of fundamental and applied research related to corrosion and fatigue damage accumulation in propeller materials and rotor aircraft and define research directions to address knowledge gaps identified. Specifically, the report discusses failure mechanisms, environmental and operational dependencies, corrosion prevention strategies (including new and emerging coatings), inspection strategies, and their consequences for safely using and maintaining dynamic systems in propeller-driven aircraft.
