Our report highlights the accomplishments of AoA and the National Aging Services Network (the Network) in delivering effective, efficient, and customer-focused home and community-based services (HCBS) programs. These programs are critical resources in helping older Americans stay healthy, active, independent, at home and connected to their communities as they age. Strategically, AoA and the Network coordinate these programs with other important partners to leverage and expand our reach. For example, AoA's strategic partnership with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) played a crucial role in aiding more than 20 million older adults with the outreach, information, and assistance needed to enroll in the new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.
