In the Agua Fria High School mercury spill event, Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) purpose is to serve the public by using the best science, taking responsive public health actions, and providing trusted health information to prevent people from coming into contact with harmful toxic substances. US Environmental Protection Agency asked ADHS to conduct this health consultation. The purpose of this health consultation is to evaluate the public health risk for school students and their family members who may have come into contact with elemental mercury detected in their homes.
