The number of commercial beds in the Buskerud county of Norway is calculated at 28,400. About 9.3 million guest nights in 2010 imply a total tourist consumption in Buskerud of NOK 5.6 billion, including overnight, day and through travel visitors. Direct production effects are calculated to be about NOK 4.3 billion, while indirect effects amount to NOK 1.9 billion. Approximately 10,500 jobs within the county (seven per cent of all jobs in Buskerud) are directly or indirectly related to tourism. Large revenues are also generated in relation to existing second homes (cabins, cottages etc.) and to the construction of new ones.
