The optical data on a portion of the Krager rocks are included in this report. These rocks are thought to be the ones which furnished the sodium for some of the large pegmatites in the region. For this reason, the optical work was done in some detail to provide a rather complete record of the chemical and mineralogical changes in some carefully selected samples and diamond drill cores.nAn explanation is offered to account for the shape of the poly-electrolyte curves published in the last report.nFilming experiments have resulted in the development of what we believe to be a new method for the production of silicate films. Details have been reported to the Signal Corps Patent Agency. Photomicrographs of the films are included. The films can be made in a very short period of time; they are uniform in size and thickness, and are semitransparent. They can be made on a continuous basis, in any thickness desired, as single sheets or laminated films.
