The Purpose of this investigation was to perform work that may shed light on the function of the polyvinyl butyral resins employed in chromrnate-phosphate wash primer formulations. These investigations should be supplementary to those on other functional constituents of the same type of wash primer carried out under ONR auspices at Rutgers University and at the Naval Research Laboratory.
