In the first report an X-ray method was used to determine the dislocation density in aluminum single crystals.nIn the second report extensive tensile tests on aluminum at temperatures from 1.2°K to 20℃ were made.nDeformation at low temperatures produces only fine slip.nAt higher temperatures (20℃) most of the slip occurs in local regions, i.e. in slip bands.nIn the third report extensive measurements on the temperature dependence of the internal friction of pure copper single crystals and of alloy crystals of copper with very small known amounts of gold were reported.
