THE COMPLEX BEHAVIOR SIMULATOR—A DEVICE FOR STUDYING PSYCHOLOGIC PROBLEMS IN MODERN WEAPONS SYSTEMS

Modem weapons systems impose problems of proficiency in which the operator must perform a large array of discrete, discontinuous functions against a continuous background of monitoring and information processing. The new weapons systems require development of special methods of testing and special testing devices. This report describes a device developed to study such problems and presents some of the typical data obtained with it, its possible applications, and some of the technical problems involved in its use.
