Development of Standardized Toxicity Testing for Dental Materials/Products

Toxicity information on dental items in the past, has been rather minimal and it has been only in the last several years that greater interest has been shown in the development of suitable toxicity testing programs to evaluate new items entering the dental market. This report reviews several of the major effects undertaken in the past year on the development of toxicity testing programs. For convenience, the report has been divided into three separate and distinct parts. These are: Development of toxicity testing program for dental items; Subacute toxicity testing of dental and biomaterials in rabbit muscle; Toxicity of ethylene chlorohydrin. (Author)
