National Telecommunications and Information Administration Budget as Presented to Congress, FY 2013.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administrations (NTIA) is responsible for: leading the development of domestic and international telecommunications and information policy for the Executive Branch; ensuring the effective and efficient use of Federal radio spectrum; performing state-of-the-art telecommunications research, engineering, and planning; and administering Federal grant programs that promote the use of innovative technology for expanding the use of the Internet, creating jobs and improving public safety. The NTIA FY 2013 budget request for Salaries and Expenses is $46.9 million, an increase of $1.3 million from the enacted FY 2012 Budget. The slight increase will provide ongoing support to NTIAs largest grant program, enhance efforts to support economic growth by continuing work to identify additional spectrum for commercial use, and fund efforts to address emerging Internet policy issues.
