Development of a New Low-Profile Highway Striping for Wet-Night Visibility. Phase I: Feasibility.

摘要

The current program was undertaken to demonstrate the feasibility of using a high-efficiency retroreflector as a low-profile highway marker. The objective of the design is to complement conventional low-profile markings such as beaded paint in order to have lane delineations that are visible on wet nights and capable of surviving normal snowplowing operations. Laboratory and road tests are reported using 1/8-inch thick molded corner-cube retroreflectors.
