The Effects of Chronic Exposure to Low Levels of Carbon Monoxide on the Cardiovascular System of Dogs. II. Exposure to 50and 150PPM Carbon Monoxide.

摘要

A study of the effects due to chronic exposure to low levels of carbon monoxide on the cardiovascular and hematologic systems of dogs is presented. The present report covers the study through exposures of 150ppm and 50ppm and is intended as a supplement to the previous report. Since no untoward effects were noted in dogs exposed to 100ppm carbon monoxide for fourteen weeks, a higher level of carbon monoxide,namely 150ppm,was used to determine if some of the effects usually attributed to carbon monoxide could be observed. In addition,other animals were exposed to 50ppm carbon monoxide and vigorously exercised to increase the work load on the cardiovascular system.
