Community Erosion Protection System Analysis

摘要

The information contained in this report is the result of an 8 month stpdy carried out by the Coastal Zone Laboratory of the University of Michigan for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The major objective of the study was to explore various factors and issues associated with the erosion control provisions of Michigan Public Act 148 (1976), entitled Certain Public Improvements Townships. One of the objectives of Act 148 was to provide communities facing severe shore erosion problems a method that would allow a 'community approach' to dealing with shore erosion. In general, this method enables communities to form special assessment districts for the purpose of constructing and financing coastal erosion control structures.
