This volume,one of six containing results of supplementary site investigations,assesses all Quaternary data which bear upon determining the potential for active faulting on the Maidu East shear zone. The report collates all applicable data,including newly available soil and geologic logs and analyses of 'indicators of active faulting.'The report concludes that the determination of fault activity assessment for the Maidu East shear zone by Woodward-Clyde Consultants published in 'Earthquake Evaluation Studies,Auburn Dam Area', 1977should be re-examined in view of the further studies completed subsequent to the publication of their report. Fifteen appended drawings which are color printed and oversize as well as several color xerox are not included in the report because they could not be microfilmed. These drawings are available from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation,Denver.
