摘要

An archaeological survey of 6215 acres of land on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation was undertaken by the Museum of Northern Arizona in June and July of 1979. A total of 82 archaeological sites and one ceremonial area of contemporary importance were recorded. The 32 sites from lowland survey areas consisted largely of habitation and limited use sites of the Hohokam and Salado traditions from the period A.D. 900-1450. One possible Archaic site was recorded, plus several historic and recent Apache and Anglo sites. The 50 limited use and habitation sites recorded in the highland parcels date to the A.D. 900-1450 period of the Black River Branch of the Mogollon, with the exception of one possible Archaic lithic site and a historic Apache site.
