Optimization of Chest Radiography. Proceedings of a Symposium Held at Madison, Wisconsin on April 30-May 2, 1979

This symposium was intended to provide a forum for the exchange of information on the relationship between patient exposure and image quality in chest radiography. It originated from discussions of Task Group 13 of the Centers for Radiological Physics. Topics identified by the Task Group were of direct program interest to the Bureau of Radiological Health's Division of Training and Medical Applications. The University of Wisconsin was selected to organize and conduct the symposium under a contract with the Bureau. The proceedings include the technical papers and discussions presented at the symposium, conclusions and recommendations that evolved from several workshops at the symposium, and a bibliography prepared by the University of Wisconsin as a background document for participants. The proceedings should provide a basic reference to the state-of-the-art in chest radiography and an indication of areas in which future work is needed.
