NIDA Research Monograph 36 is a presentation by several multidisciplinary pain clinics and centers on their staffing and organization, the problems for which patients are treated, drugs taken by entering patients, therapeutic approaches used, costs of treatment, and methods for long-term evaluation of treatment effectiveness. Goals for future research and professional and public education are also presented.
