Archeological Reconnaissance Survey of Hagensick Brewery Site at McGregor, Iowa

An archeological reconnaissance survey of the 5 acre Hagensick Brewery site, located 2 miles north of McGregor, Iowa was conducted. Some historical data was gathered to gain knowledge of the original appearance of the site. Archeological testing revealed the process by which the brewery probably had been erected and uncovered a number of foundations south of the brewery. Testing found no builder's trenches or footings. Of the few artifacts found during excavation, only a small number related to the functions of the brewery.
