Effects of Prescribed Fire on Soil Nitrogen Levels in a Cutover Douglas-Fir/ Western Larch Forest

摘要

The study reports 6 percent of total nitrogen lost and changes in other related soil properties after a clearcut and broadcast burn. The most persistent change (4 years) was a reduction in soil acidity. Forest management implications are discussed.
