Historic Structure Report, Building 38/Tearney Building, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Jefferson County, West Virginia

The Tearney Building at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, is named after Edward Tearney, who along with Peter Lytle and Patrick Kelly, constructed it in 1844. Although the building was originally owned jointly by these three men, Edward Tearney was the sole owner from 1860 until 1902. Tearney's heirs owned the building until 1925. This report deals with both historical and architectural issues regarding historical appearance and exsisting conditions. Recommendation for a proposed work program for exterior restoration is given.
