HAER CHECKLIST is a listing of documentation produced by the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) from its inception in 1969 through May 1985. There are nearly 1,200 sites documented by 1,400 sheets of drawings, 17,000 photographs, and 11,600 data pages - most of which are in the HAER collection at the Library of Congress. The HAER collection is one of the most comprehensive graphic and written archives of the technological heritage of any nation in the world. Sites range from early stone blast furnaces, water-powered grist mills, ice houses, snuff mills, tide and wind mills, to early 20th century iron and steel plants.
