摘要

The report is a detailed history of railroad logging activity on a portion of the Oroville Ranger District, Plumas National Forest during the 1909-1938 period. It focuses particularly on the history of the major railroad logging company working in the area, the Swayne Lumber Company, but also gives the history of other minor companies--Truckee Lumber Company, Butte and Plumas Railroad, and the Butte County Mill and Lumber Company.
