Multicommodity Network Application to Transportation of Forest Industry Products

摘要

In the presentation the authors have analyzed both problems and character of transportation planning and applicability of different allocation algorithms for export of products of the Finnish forest industries. Especially, they have pointed out what kind of solutions mathematical model techniques can offer for planning of multicommodity network flows together with size and allocation problems of the transportation equipment. The authors compare the results obtained by standard MIP implementations and network flow algorithms; and discuss differences and possibilities.
