Protecting Livestock from Coyotes: A Synopsis of the Research of the Agricultural Research Service

The publication summarizes the significant findings of research conducted or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service between 1973 and 1987 on control of predation on livestock. The research has concentrated on finding ways of limiting coyote damage to sheep with minimal harm to other animals and the environment. Especially promising are results of studies with antipredator electric fencing and with livestock guarding dogs.
