Measurements of Large-Scale,Near-Bottom,Geomagnetic East-West Volume Transports Utilizing Vertical Electric Field Measurement Systems.

摘要

Instrumentation was developed to measure the vertical component of electric field near the ocean bottom. Theoretical work related this electric field measurement to the east-west volume transport,including effects of internal wave modes,steps in bottom topography and sub-bottom conductivity structure. Long term measurements revealed low frequency wave activity at the equator,which is tentatively interpreted as first mode Rossby waves. (Author)
