摘要

The expression of bacterial genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been studied in the hope that such knowledge will aid in the development of yeast strains capable of utilizing diverse energy sources, e.g., cellulose, for the production of ethanol by fermentation. Specifically the expression in yeast of bacterial antibiotic resistance genes as well as structural genes for biosynthetic pathways from Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria has been investigated.
