摘要

The data file of an existing (IPEG4) computer program was modified to accept input data for a typical OTTO cycle internal combustion engine and the required selling price was determined for annual production rates of 25,000, 100,000 and 400,000 units. An in-depth procedure called the ''Model'' Plant Analysis Method starts with a parts list and results in a theoretical plant design for each production rate. Data derived included a list of equipment, corporate organization, facilities, and other details required to plan, set up, and operate a profitable manufacturing facility. The analysis entailed determination of the direct and indirect items required and the variable and fixed costs. This included all labor, material, equipment, facility and other items directly or indirectly required to build and operate the production facility.
