From measurements of the angular distribution around 0 exp 0 for the exp 70 Zn( exp 14 C, exp 16 O) reactions, the first excited state of exp 68 Ni observed at 1.77+-.04 MeV is shown to be 0 exp + . This result establishes a new case of 2 sub 1+ and 0 sub 2+ inversion. (Atomindex citation 13:704786)
