During September 1969 an instrumented Mirage aircraft made 3 flights through an area of severe to extreme turbulence. This report describes the turbulence measured over a period of 5 hours in terms of root mean square gust velocity, power spectral density and rate of exceedence spectra. The vertical gust velocity is well represented by a von Karman spectrum with a root mean square value of 10 ft/sec. and scale length 700 feet.
