The error rate of transmission of pseudoternary data over telephony radio relay systems was investigated. The results of several series of measurements, the power spectra, and transmitted signal power are discussed. From the results, it appears that even when utilizing the radio relay channel with 1.07 bits per Hz bandwidth an error rate of less than 10 to the minus 7th power can be obtained independently of the number of radio sections.
